While the article doesn't clearly say this, my interpretation is that she was in procession of Bitcoins worth that amount at the time of her arrest, but she didn't "own" that money. That money probably belongs to others. If she made £2 billion herself, she would surely be amongst the richest criminals in the world (prior to her arrest). For comparative purposes, El Chapo's net worth has been estimated as being anywhere between $1 billion to $12 billion. |
