Ask HN: How fair is to present a plugin as partnership?
1 points by DavorDK 824 days ago
I saw this one post where a CEO and Founder is saying and proclaiming in it's title:

JetBrains Adds :Company:Name: to Remote Dev Env Managers

The first paragraph says: "We're thrilled to announce :insert:company:name: partnership with JetBrains, marking the launch of our new JetBrains plugin. This collaboration opens up a world of seamless development environment management within your favourite JetBrains IDEs, such as IntelliJ IDEA and PyCharm, among others."

So basically, they built a plugin - how would you as a developer feel after reading this "bold" title and then reading this first paragraph?

Trying to prove a point to some of my marketer colleagues, so basically, I'm looking for a confirmation bias (LOL), but it really just goes against everything I know and every "best practice" cell in my being, and to be honest, it makes me mad.

I might be wrong, so I won't reveal the name of the CEO and company. Just want to hear some opinions first.
