Amazon, 1996, I think. I bought Kim Stanley Robinson's Blue Mars. I got a note saying that I was one of their first UK customers, this was before the UK based Amazon existed. And a mousemat with a Groucho Marx quote: "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read". |
