SMIC is doing volume production at 7nm now.

So what if China has 7nm chips now, there's no Huawei it can make them 'at scale' https://www.theregister.com/2023/09/19/huaweis_advanced_chip...
I'm not sure that assertion by the US Commerce Secretary is holding up a months later. Apparently "Huawei has seen a resurgence in its premium smartphone sales since it released its Mate 60 series" (the phone model in question): https://www.reuters.com/technology/apples-china-iphone-sales...
What products contain that 7nm?
The latest Huawei phones and the locally produced version of the Huawei Ascend AI accelerator.
Can you be more specific? Their flagship is Snapdragon and their top phone with their own SoC design is Kirin, both made by TSMC.
The AI acellerator is Huawei Ascend 910B which is comparable to the NVDIA A100. And the latest Kirin chips are made by SMIC. The sales of the phones are in the millions and it is the main reason for Apple's declining sales in China.
I found Mate 60 Pro for just over $1000 with Kirin 9000S. Still a question of volume, but seems legit.
