We use Mailcoach. There is a version where you pay once for the tech, but you then need to set everything by yourself. It's great if you have the time to set it up properly.
I do like the idea of privacy-first. I hate mailing lists but I know they have their place. I used Brevo to announce the end of free beta to my users, and to my horror, all the links I inserted in the email body had been turned into tracking links. I won't be using Brevo anymore, that's for certain.
