Hmm I'm curious. What does "gui" mean? It yanked you out of the command line in a browser or finder?

And was this autocomplete server based or happened locally and privately?

It added a correctly positioned autocomplete list in front of the cursor in almost any terminal app.

The core server was local, its two most used features were directory, and CLI arguments autocomplete.
