today you have two competing phone OS, that is not a monoculture.

If Apple leave EU then there will be only Android.. It will be a monoculture then..

Also you do not increase competition by having less people competing.

That would actually be great, because in that case the EU would have ground to impose Google to sell off the Android division (because it'd be a monopoly).

If Google becomes a de facto monopolist, then the EU is more likely to restrict its market power further, up to and including divestiture.
