I almost cancelled my JetBrains subscription when I saw that shit. Very bad move on their part.

Why?
They were by default sending code back to their servers so they could make AI suggestions. I didn’t consent to that.
Source? I really don't think that's true.
According to JetBrains

> Neither we nor our service providers use your data or code for training any generative models.

This is some very weasel-wording stuff written by a lawyer. It probably means their parent company can use the code for training, they just can't do it directly.

How else would they be able to provide the service? They aren’t doing the compute on my laptop, otherwise I’d have to download model files, etc.
