The National Labs are most definitely hiring for all STEM roles.

I just looked at Berkeley and they have 60 openings with the word “software” in the title. https://jobs.lbl.gov/jobs/search/4993486

Just putting it out there for people, who don’t seem to know this is happening from the frequent postings like this. Also, all large companies are tech companies and finance companies now. Walmart has 1695 openings with the word “software” in the title. https://careers.walmart.com/results?q=software&page=1&sort=r...
Tragically the problem is not lack of roles, it's a lack of hiring managers able or willing to fill them. No one wants to risk a visible failure, so they take no risks at all... which leads us to the current situation of 1600 unfilled software dev roles at walmart.
UnitedHealth needs help badly, if you follow the news. They tell you when jobs are posted on their careers site. 311 USA jobs posted in the last 30 days with the word “software" in the title. For OP, they have 5 openings in Ireland, all posted since 2/12. Those are not just sitting there.
You're just listing more "openings."

"It's not what you know, it's who you know," though many hate to admit it.

I guess everyone should just give up then. Good luck.
Well yes and no. Some companies are actually hiring, but distinguishing them from the companies that aren't hiring (but have 1,000+ software jobs up on LinkedIn) is impossible.
