> What people want out of a house changes over time. Hard disagree. At it's essence, a house is a shelter from the environment. The need for walls and a roof doesn't change. Engineering a house for longevity isn't hard, all that really matters is water/moisture management. Any "wrong" things with a house can be fixed. There are very few houses that are unsafe to inhabit and require a rebuild. |

Fixing anything can be done / is possible. That doesn't mean it is the brightest idea to always do so.
