Most people agree that a free market needs to exists in order to uphold a capitalistic system (what is ownership if you can not transfer it?). You can make free markets that are regulated in a way that ensures that participants are, roughly, equal - in fact there is an argument that a market is not free unless this is the case. When participants of a market can increase their profit margins it is usually a sign of an ineffcient market - a participant has an advantage that other participants can not compete with. |
