Appropriating an old movie that was a product of its time to make it more palatable for later generations is normal, and nothing to get riled up about, even if no one knows what “hottentots” means. They didn’t even remove it from the film, they just changed the age rating. Aren’t there more pressing concerns?

yes, it's ridiculous. i'm really glad they didn't remove it.

you know what would have been better? not claiming that young children need guidance in case of "hottentot".

people these days are projecting their own delusional compulsive need to make everything P.C. and safe onto everyone else, including the sane people (and children). i guarantee no 5-10 year old suddenly picks up "hottentot" as a playground slur because they saw this without enough "guidance".

there are indeed much more pressing concerns. like stupidity and pandering. race-baiting. extremism... so no, the issue is not a big deal, the overreaction is.
