I don't think that's fair here.

Microsoft should not require a Microsoft Account to use Windows. But I as an individual cannot change Microsoft's position. I'm not saying Elon can either, but I suspect his feedback will carry more weight.

Others might be thankful that someone with access brought attention to this issue for many people at a higher level. Sure you can bypass this with a few buttons and a string, but is that really a good user experience? Maybe difficult to not bring personality bias into the situation and see the action itself as good.
