This product seems to be a blend of mushroom powder, adaptogens (such as roots and herbs), and a small amount of caffeine powder, wrapped in a generous layer of marketing fluff.

While I find mushrooms intriguing, I find the claims around their specific benefits lack concrete research on dosage, ingredients, and potential interactions.

Yeah, caffeine makes it suspect. I have seen plenty of complex supplements that have a dose of one or more stimulants (back in the day they were giving out free doses of the original Jack3D with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methylhexanamine)

I also have my concerns about "adaptogens", I tried

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Withania_somnifera

a few times and felt it was a lot like taking a Valium: both are relaxing and .relieve anxiety and both can make you clumsy and stupid. I think the ratio is a lot more favorable for Valium vs Ashwagandha.

That Latin name sounds suspicious, as if taking a large dose would produce the same pseudo-sleep produced by a large dose of Valium (amnesia, such that the person who took it thought they were asleep, an observer thinks the person is asleep, but the brain waves are completely different from sleep)

I looked in PubMed and found no talk about overdose of that stuff, it must be very rare for a case to turn up at a university medical center.

That's fascinating! I definitely hadn't heard of Methylhexanamine before. It's certainly a good reminder that we need more research on these complex supplements before jumping in.

I hear you about “adaptogens” too. I tried Ashwagandha once and had a similar experience to yours — felt a bit too relaxed and, well, not exactly sharp.

Overall, it seems like caution and a healthy dose of scepticism are key when it comes to these kinds of products. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences!
