FM has more bandwidth per channel, so better sound. And stereo. Doesn't matter much for talk radio, but it sounds like this station was mixed music/talk? Some modern listeners don't even know what AM stations are. AM has better propagation (lower frequency), but inherently more noise (amplitude modulated). |
