Both Windows and Linux communicate the IP of the DNS server using either DHCP or a value you have set statically in the network configuration.. and Chromium just uses the IP. When I see the discussion about "dns client" it is not immediately clear to me if the concern is that it is using its own client but still respecting the system-provided IP address or if it is using its very own hardcoded DNS server address, presumably Google's. On Windows and Linux it respects the system's address configuration. |
