Although learning new skills is fine, I think your question is hinting at a deeper problem: it's difficult to acquire customers in this field. Presenting that problem as "I need to learn about sales" may be to misunderstand the problem. It's possible that (for <reasons>) there is no decent market to sell part time ops services and no amount of sales chops will solve that problem.
