Other states only require recordings for felony investigations. Many states only require recording of custodial interrogations for specific offenses, such as rape and murder. At one point, California only required recordings of custodial interrogations involving juveniles suspected of having committed murder, but that might have changed — I haven’t looked into this in a while. |
