Yes, and that’s actually the problem with the comment. HN guidelines are for substantive discussions, not funny quips. There’s a few HN comment guidelines [1] that could apply here, but the most directly applicable one is “Omit internet tropes.”

It's both a throwaway quip, and a real sentiment: I think that Deno is not getting any traction, surely not the intended traction expected when it was created (and by Node's creator no less), and it will just keep hanging on in the fringe.

Besides, it wouldn't hurt HN to loosen up a little once in a while. You know, obsessive total adherence to rules is never a good thing - even to the law.

If the original comment was funny,I wouldn’t have downvoted.

But it’s just low effort, extremely online snark.
