F1’s reasoning is “Andretti won’t be competitive and Andretti’s reputation will benefit more than ours if he has an F1 team”

Yeah, just like being a perennial loser did so much good for the Williams legend, right?

Or similar to how winning nothing in F1 for years really buoyed Ferrari’s brand, I suppose?

I would like to know the actual reason for the rejection, given that the stated reasons are transparently false.

Increasing the number of teams will reduce the revenue shared out to all of the existing teams. So most likely all existing teams lobbied hard to prevent it from happening.
