Even though I’ve never regularly listened to JRE, I’m glad this deal let’s episodes be posted to YouTube. I don’t really log into many accounts, and that’s been the big thing preventing me from touching Spotify in years. Admittedly, I’m a bit surprised that Spotify was willing to make this deal without exclusivity rights. Joe Rogan has a big enough pull that there’s pretty much a guaranteed audience that’ll be brought over. The only reason for distributing the show broadly would be for larger exposure, but JRE is already insanely popular; it’s not like they're dealing with something new here. Overall, I think it’s a good deal for the listeners, just doesn’t make much sense on Spotify’s end.
