"How to be a better mentor/mentee?" I'd love to have a mentor as well, but I couldn't tell what I would have to offer to said mentor or how to compensate them for time/advice. In my opinion, you should first be clear about your ambitions in your field of interest and how a mentor would even be able to help you. The field of digital forensics is rather small (in comparison to general infosec)you could basically do it like an OSINT investigation: - look up instructors or book authors in this field (Amazon, goodreads, pluralsight etc.) - identify those who are active on social media (who are they talking to) - become a fixture inside these circles - identify local companies or meetups in this field - connect with more experienced professionals in real life - voice your wish to find a mentor |
