People can comment on a project in public discussion forums without then also having a responsibility to become a contributor to the project.

I certainly agree -- but then they should not expect anything to be done about whatever they're complaining about.

I interpreted kazinator's original comment as essentially saying "This looks like something I might use myself, but for this dealbreaker issue."
