It’s my anecdotal experience that this really was not the case at boarding school.

Yes - it’s tough being separated from parents and family at a young age

Yes - of course there are bullies at school. Has anyone attended any institution where they don’t exist? I see them regularly in families, workplaces, academia and local communities.

It’s a different lived experience compared to traditional schooling for sure. But I enjoyed great camaraderie, and continue to enjoy lifelong friendships with those I spent my time with.

My point essentially is - don’t assume on the basis that someone attended boarding school they are emotionally inept or incomplete which is the impression I got from this article
