I've heard this same remark from now 3 appliance installation/repair folk. The advise I was given was do NOT upgrade i.e. our refrigerator because it will keep working while the new models are made to die. This really shouldn't shock anyone, it's a bit of the status quo for appliances, printers, toys, you name it. Planned obsolescence is real and going strong. |
