I’ve ran Ceph in my home lab since Jewel (~8 years ago). Currently up to 70TB storage on a single node. Have been pretty successful vertically scaling, but will have to add a 2nd node here in a bit. Ceph isn’t the fastest, but it’s incredibly resilient and scalable. Haven’t needed any crazy hardware requirements, just ram and an i7. |
