I wasn't aware of this accident, it does look very similar. Airbus got some flak at the time for the AF 447 accident, both for this side stick issue and for the way the stall system unintuively stopped when the plane was pointed up (because its speed decreased to a level that was below some threshold that allowed the warnings). I find it surprising how these UI elements in aviation are so primitive, we should improve them. |
