I don't know how much truth there is to this, but when IKEA established themselves in the US, they evidently had issues with americans returning duvet covers "because the fabric was ripped in the corners". Subsequently IKEA removed the corner holes. Globally, in the name of large-scale economics. And speaking of subsequently, I've stopped buying bed linen at IKEA. |
