For us anglos, shampane is just the generic term for bubbly wine. They find the existence of actual laws banning this standard usage silly. “No one’s gonna tell me that the 1.5 litre bottle of Baby Duck that I drink with my Pizza Hut delivery while watching infomercials isn’t shampane!” |
