In Ireland you need to have held your provisional license for at least six months and done 12 lessons with a certified instructor before they allow you to take the test.
It seems like we’ve no rules in the UK around it, as long as you’ve passed your theory (which you can book before 17 so it’s ready for your birthday) you can book your practical.
You’ll struggle to book one less than 6 months in advance I believe, but in theory you could be driving at 17 years and a couple weeks.
