I think people are downvoting you because of the way you delivered the message rather than the content of the message. As I've gotten older, I've realized it is actually more healthy to view professional contacts in this manner (but not necessarily family). It helps compartmentalize their behavior (which is intrinsically self-motivated) to just being "how the game is played". |
