1. No but you do need to run the controller somewhere. It doesn't need to be run 24/7. I used to run it from a windows machine occasionally but its more convenient to have it running all the time on raspberrypi or something.

3. Good question its a question many have been asking of the U-6Pro and U-6E. Their switching hardware also has limited support for 10GbE RJ-45. |
