This is sadly unsurprising. I have a foreign language degree and a bit over a decade ago, I spent some time trying to get a translation side-job off the ground. Even then it was clear that , except for a select few languages, it was a race to the bottom with machine translation software as the driving force. I gave up on that career idea quickly. Now I use ChatGPT and is does a great job. My experience with DuoLingo is it’s barely better than flash cards for language learning, and it’s no wonder they’re having a hard time making any money offering a product thats competition is cheaper and better. |
