While I think there are a couple of valid points, in general my feeling is that the author is setting up a straw man to attack. Most of the “programmer sins” are of the type that more seasoned engineers will easily avoid, especially those with experience working with scientific code. Most of these mistakes are traps I see junior developers falling into because of inexperience. |
