I wondered how many bits per silicone atom these SD cards are capable of now. Quick back of the envelope calculations say we're at 300 million atoms per bit of capacity. Assumptions:
micro sd cards weighing 250 mg, resulting in 0.25/28 moles of silicon. |

The actual metal storing magnetic charge in a hard drive is tiny also, with some drive platters being mostly ceramic. Regardless, if you were to personify the force of entropy, it would be greatly angered by humanity and modern computing.
