What a strange remark. Would you object to somebody saying they are tired of human conflict, hunger, disease? These have all existed for the entirety of humanity, so by your thinking people cannot be tired of them?
It’s totally plausible and not really all that respectable to whine about it. Especially in this context where one option they have is simply not to click on the article.
Then maybe they should choose to adopt some non-dreary political beliefs to embrace that they can rationally and honestly defend without lying and gaslighting, so they don't get so weary of people being offended and disagreeing with them. Then they wouldn't have to play the victim and complain about cancel culture so dramatically.
