They 100% did write a remote desktop extension for Wayland.
That's the difference, Wayland is actually being developed. It'd be nice if we had software that was actually finished and solid and we could use it without change forever, but X11 isn't that, so if it's not going to get updates, we'll need something else, and hopefully it'll continue developing to be closer to that ideal. |
