It's still a hard problem as radar/lidar have similar object identification issues as cameras. (I've made production products with both lidar and cameras and the situations were both fail is non-zero). The problems are both false-positive and false-negative and no matter what you do, you'll see some of both. (Yes, a problem people have, too.) Oh, and don't forget cars are operating in an adversarial environment. Obstacles will appear w/out giving you time to stop. |
