Dedicated mp3 players might work well for this. I (no kids) have been using a Sansa Clip with Rockbox for 10 years. It checks all the boxes you mentioned. I fear for the day it dies. I've heard that newer Sansas aren't compatible with Rockbox, and the ones that are sell for ~$50 secondhand. |
