Devs in FT jobs, does freelance work interest you? What kinds? What conditions?

I'm curious if developers in full time jobs (happy or not) ever look for freelance work? Not necessarily to make more money but to work on some interesting projects and build up a portfolio/network/future relationships that could come in handy.

I would pretty unequivocally never consider contracting on the side in addition to a full time job. I don't need my entire life to be work.
