We're developing an AI Assistant designed specifically for restaurant operations. It’s crafted to take orders via phone calls and directly input them into the restaurant's POS system, effectively bridging the gap between customer interaction and order processing.

I asked it if it spoke spanish, said yes, I then asked some stuff in spanish and it responded in English anyways.

Sometimes it would hang unnaturally for a long time after I finished speaking and then do the beep to "confirm receipt" of what I said. I think that may need to be more sensitive?

The voice was a little andro - make it more manly or more feminine to make it more human.

It only supports English now. Will add support for other languages. The ASR and TTS have room to improve. Thanks for your feedback!
It doesn’t seem to listen to other languages besides English.

I tried Spanish and Portuguese (Br).

It thought pedir (to request) was a flavor.

I also asked for bread, water, and cheese and only responded with Bubble tea.

I waited almost 30~ seconds after ordering, to find out it didn’t hear my original request. Might suggest shortening the retry.

It only supports English now. Our log shows the conversation ended when the assistant ask you for modifications, did you hear that message?
Yes, but from my point of view I had to speak my request twice before the AI responded.

I thought it was thinking, but it was a very long delay between pauses.

I like the idea, don’t want to come across as negative!

We do notice the AI feels a little bit slow for the first round of conversation, but we also notice once you get used to the pace of the AI, the conversation will become more smooth. We have added some improvements, please give it another try, and looking forward to your feedback!
Worked quite well! I would say it's usable by savvy people today. However the delay and turn-based interaction would preclude my parents from using it successfully. Nice work though!
