I don't want to be that guy, but here we go: get a pair of AirPods if you haven't yet. I'm in the same situation as you and it - oh no, that guy again - changed my life.

Wouldn't airpods be more likely to be swallowed by the toddler than over-ear headphones?

Why airpods specifically? I recommend the Truthear Hexa, like 1/3 of the price with better tips and far superiour audio quality

Yep definitely getting the AirPods this Xmas time. I prefer the earphones because losless but our kid is just everywhere.
