My job as a manager is to ensure there are no unrealistic deadlines, and when peer managers suggest them, push back hard. Otherwise the result is a feedback loop where burnout affects subsequent projects, and a tech debt spiral results. Thankfully I have never had a gig where pay was increased if unreasonable timelines were met, nor would I want one. |
