I know several people who went back to IC. All the feedback I heard was either applause or envy of the person's guts to do it. (Usually it came with a significant salary drop.) This typically happened after a few years as a manager though. My 2 cents: just say it as it is. Your manager doesn't need you having a burnout all if a sudden any more than you do. |
