I thought this as well. At my shop, everyone in the hiring chain has adopted the "Talent Acq" mindset. Even engineering managers just do Keyword matching for skills. No one thinks about the problem needing to be solved and that maybe, just maybe, complex problems require people who can "open a can of whoop-ass" on them. That's a gift, not a skill and it does NOT fit the process. |
