From a Western perspective, there's no denying at least some Christian influence. We inherit a morality and philosophical tradition and that was shaped by a Christian-dominated culture for a large chunk of its history. Highly recommend (not Spider-Man) Tom Holland's book Dominion for more on how that all played out. |
