Agree. Just create a leaderboard division that includes AI. Don't fight it. Embrace it

Counterstrike and Quake have had "cheater" servers since their inception -- this doesn't stop people from cheating in non-cheat servers.

That doesn't stop people from using AI to get on the "non-AI" division of leaderboard.
