The History Guy recently posted "A Brief History of the T Shirt": * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ds_xyrZCSo8 Generally: started out as undershirts, became work shirts (especially in the USN during WW2), and then folks just started wearing them on a daily basis post-war, mostly in 'misfit' / counter-culture groups in the 1950s (especially amongst teenagers), and the hippy culture embracing them in the 1960s. |
