Yeah, it's over. Avalonia has blossomed into a functional framework in the time it's taken for MAUI to get to wherever here is. It's basically a drop-in replacement for WPF in terms of controls, to a degree that honestly surprised me. The default styling isn't that sexy, but you can change it, just like WPF, so I'd say it's mission complete as far as ordinary apps are concerned!

I think Microsoft has given up on facilitating application development beyond VS and C#.
