Chromium, vanadium, zinc, copper, selenium, iron, iodine deficiencies can all lead to problems in those areas. Certain (micro)biome pathogens, too, eg acetaldehyde producers.
There is some research pointing towards that most hunger pangs not caused by daily eating schedule are protein related.
